Virtual CD/DVD Server - CDH

System Prerequisites
The Virtual CD/DVD Server requires the following network components:

    A TCP/IP network using 10/100BaseT Ethernet and Category 5 RJ45 cabling.
An Internet web browser loaded on the administration workstation.
Ethernet patch cable to attach the Virtual CD Server to the network.
If eConsole remote administration software is to be used, a workstation running Windows 9x, NT 4.0 or 2000 is needed.

Physical Connection

  1. Insert the Category 5 Ethernet patch cable into the RJ-45 connector at the rear of the Virtual CD/DVD Server. Insert the other end into a network hub.
  2. Connect the power cable to the Virtual CD/DVD Server and plug it into the power strip or outlet. Use of a surge protector is strongly recommended for long system life.
  3. Turn on the Virtual CD/DVD Server.

Front Panel Indicator Lights
There are four LEDs on the front panel of the CDH CPU: HDD Activity, Network, 10/100, and Power/Fault.

HDD (Hard Drive) Activity. This light will flash red to indicate that an internal hard drive is being accessed.
Network. This light will flash green to indicate network activity.
10/100. Amber indicates a network speed of 10Mbps. Green is a speed of 100Mbps.
Power/Fault. This will flash green during the system boot process. When the system is ready, the light will be steady green. If a fault is detected, the light will change to amber.
