Tweak UI
Tweak UI is a free program from Microsoft. It allows you to manipulate the Windows 9x/NT environment: you can tweak the user interface. It is a user friendly face for the Windows Registry Editor.

The Registry is Windows. It contains all of the settings for how Windows looks and works. To make changes to the Registry you can manually edit the Registry by typing REGEDIT.EXE into the Start/Run box. But you will need to know where the settings are located, and what commands to use to change them.

Caveat Emptor. Before making any changes to the Registry, manually or by using TweakUI, backup the Registry. A corrupt Registry will cause Windows to crash.

The TweakUI options mentioned in this page are not supported by Academy Computer Services or by Microsoft. Neither can be held laible for any difficulties you encounter in using TweakUI. If you run into troubles, you are on your own.

There are many different versions of Tweak UI. The most recent, v 1.33, is commonly called TweakUI 2000. It works with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT and 2000. Downloaded it directly from Microsoft.
